Though Orlando Franklin is the Denver Broncos' starting right tackle right now, it is possible a familiar body could occupy that spot should the rookie fail to live up to early expectations. The Denver Post reports that free agent Ryan Harris is scheduled to visit the Broncos on Tuesday. The report goes on to suggest that the visit is just a bridge to Harris signing a contract with the team.
Harris was a third-round pick out of Notre Dame for the Broncos in 2007 and he was the starter at right tackle for the last three seasons. Injuries over the last two seasons have limited him to 19 games. He would likely serve as a backup to both Franklin and left tackle Ryan Clady should he fail to overtake Franklin during camp.
Once the 2011 offseason began, it looked like Harris was all but a sure thing to leave, but obviously the market isn't there for him.
