Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams hasn't been with the Miami Hurricanes for seven years, but his past with the school is coming back to haunt him, according to Yahoo Sports' investigation. Former Miami booster Nevin Shapiro is alleged to have provided a number of cash gifts to D.J. Williams as well as other impermissible benefits at his Miami Beach residence.

Williams was also paid for bounties on the field, including a $250 bounty for a sack he picked up in a 2003 game. The most important allegation is a trip Shapiro paid for Williams' mother to visit Miami. The reported trip involved Williams' mother on Shapiro's yacht as well as a meeting with former NFL agent and current UFL commissioner Michael Huyghue.

Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson's report cites numerous unnamed sources to document these events. Pictures of Williams and his mother have reportedly been obtained to verify these events. Williams has not returned a phone call in response to these allegations.
