While Denver Broncos starters are expected to play 12-15 snaps in their preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd may not. The Broncos' No. 1 wide receiver left Tuesday's practice with swelling in his knee, casting doubt on how ready he will be for Thursday's game.
It was the latest in a string of injuries to Broncos receivers. It started in February when Demaryius Thomas ruptured his Achilles tendon during a workout and Eddie Royal announced he had surgery on his hip to repair an injury that happened during the first game of the season. Royal has sat out of practice for the last two days to rest his hip, though he did take part in a Tuesday walk-through.
Eric Decker is expected to play a wider role in the offense, but he's only a second-year player. Matt Willis, Britt Davis and David Anderson make up a diminished receiving corps.
