ESPN's John Clayton finally joined Twitter and he's already providing plenty of NFL news during this free agency period. Clayton reports that the Denver Broncos will make a play for defensive tackle Brandon Mebane while Seattle and New Orleans are looking for his services. Mebane has spent his four-year career with the Seahawks after his selection in by them in 2007's third round.
Mebane benefited from the new collective bargaining agreement by gaining unrestricted free agency as a fourth-year player. But he may want to stay in Seattle.
Defensive tackle is a huge need for the Broncos, which makes this interest of no real surprise. He would instantly start on this revamped 4-3 defensive scheme and hopefully shut down the run. He does have 10 career sacks but he will be utilized more for his ability to stuff the run.
