Willis McGahee Will Be Released By Baltimore Ravens, Could Be Possible Broncos Target

NFL roster moves are about to begin, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter the Baltimore Ravens have already told running back Willis McGahee that he will be released. This is an interesting development for the Denver Broncos, who are in search of a running back to pair with Knowshon Moreno.

The Ravens stand to gain cap space from this move and don't have to pay the soon-to-be 30-year-old back his $6 million salary that he was in line to make (he signed a $7 million deal in 2007 through 2013). But for the Broncos pursuing him would make sense.

Back when McGahee began his NFL career in Buffalo, his running back coach was Eric Studesville, former interim head coach of the Broncos and still running back coach. McGahee had two 1,000-plus-yard seasons while there. It would be a reunion that could potentially reap benefits for both sides. But we'll need to see if the Ravens want to bring him back as Ray Rice's backup. It is a distinct possibility.
