Tim Tebow or Kyle Orton? That's the question that continues to hound the Denver Broncos as we await an end to the NFL lockout and the start of a training camp--whenever any of that may be. And sure, we can listen to John Elway and John Fox say that Brady Quinn will get a chance to compete for the starting job under center, but he's mostly an after-thought in most cases.
↵But Brady Quinn doesn't believe Brady Quinn should be ignored in this case. As he told the Denver Post recently:
↵↵↵"I want to be No. 1," Quinn said. "I feel they (Orton and Tebow) both had a chance last year and I didn't get an opportunity. I'd love to get an opportunity to help us win games and get this team to the playoffs and see what happens from there."
↵
Quinn was in a bad situation on Cleveland, so let's give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he can actually compete with Orton and Tebow. But he hasn't played in a regular season game since 2009. That season he completed 53 percent of his passes and threw eight touchdowns to seven interceptions. He was sacked 19 times. He certainly seemed like a change of scenery guy when the trade was made, but will he need to move elsewhere to finally get that opportunity?
