With the Brian Dawkins-led players-only workouts a few weeks old, quarterbacks Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow were both there on Tuesday, reports 104.3 The FAN. There's nothing earth-shattering about that, but more importantly, injured wide receiver Eddie Royal participated in Monday's conditioning session, reports Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Royal underwent hip surgery in February and was expected to take part in drills around this time of the year back then. With Brandon Lloyd the No. 1 receiver, Royal, Jabar Gaffney, Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas will all battle it for placement on the depth chart once training camp starts.
Decker and Thomas were rookies in 2010 and will look to have a larger impact this coming season. While both can return kicks, Royal has had more success at that. Gaffney, meanwhile, is a solid possession receiver, though replaceable by the other receivers.
