With the third pick of the third round (67th overall), the Denver Broncos selected N.C. State Wolfpack ILB Nate Irving. He had 213 tackles, 40 tackles for a loss and nine sacks in his career with the Wolfpack. He suffered a broken leg and a punctured lung in a 2009 car crash, but came back to perform at a top ACC level.
So, on the second day of the NFL Draft, John Fox and Co. stuck with their best player available philosophy and didn't make adjustments so a defensive tackle could be taken in either the second or third rounds.
This will be the Broncos' final pick on Friday night, barring any trades. The Broncos will have picks in Rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
