Day 2 of the 2011 NFL Draft now shifts to the second and third rounds on Friday evening. SB Nation's Brian Galliford has returned with a second round NFL mock draft to start off our mornings. Clemson end Da'Quan Bowers fell out of the first round and could be available for the Denver Broncos to select with the fourth pick of the second round (36th overall). Who does Galliford project there?
The selection turns out to be Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea, who fills a need for the Broncos. Considering the Broncos had Marcell Dareus as a possible No. 2 overall pick (he went No. 3 to the Bills), it makes sense for the Broncos to select a defensive tackle in the second round--it's a strength of this draft.
And Da'Quan Bowers then goes one pick later to the Cleveland Browns. If Bowers is the best player available on the Broncos' board when they select, I don't see how they pass on Bowers. And as Galliford projects, the Broncos select a second defensive tackle with the 14th pick of the second round: Jarvis Jenkins.
What happens when the draft starts again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday? Don't discount the Broncos trading one of those second round picks.
