NFL Draft 2011: Shannon Sharpe To Announce Broncos Second Round Picks

Not only will he enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011, but former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe will announce the Broncos' two second round selections on Friday, April 29. This is part of a new league initiative that will have a former player from each team announce a pick (or multiple picks in Sharpe's case).

Instead of hearing Commissioner Roger Goodell or a deputy of his announce each pick in some monotone voice, now we can hear Sharpe, who is known for having interesting words come out of his mouth. And with picks No. 36 and No. 46, we're sure to hear something memorable.

Barry Sanders (Lions), Franco Harris (Steelers), John Lynch (Buccaneers) and Marshall Faulk (Rams) are among the other former players set to announce their team's selection. The Panthers, the Dolphins and the Jets do not have second round picks, but will have their picks announced by their representatives in the third round.

The NFL Draft begins on April 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT with the first round, continues on Friday with rounds 2-3 and concludes on Sunday with rounds 4-7.
