The Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado St. Rams will hold their pro day workouts on Tuesday. Colorado offensive tackle Nate Solder and cornerback Jimmy Smith will be main foci for many scouts in attendance. Solder and Smith are both highly-rated prospects and are likely high first-round picks.
In SB Nation's latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft, Solder is selected at No. 17 by the New England Patriots, a team that could use a young tackle on their line. He's the second tackle off the board, behind USC's Tyron Smith at No. 13 to the Detroit Lions. Solder is also a possible selection for the Lions.
The Philadelphia Eagles take Jimmy Smith at No. 23 and pair him with Asante Samuel in the secondary. He could go higher, but he'll need to make teams believe his off-the-field incidences are behind him and his work ethic strong. Smith's tandem at cornerback, Jalil Brown, may have moved himself into the second or third round.
While there are no big-time prospects for Colorado St., long snapper Scott Albritton should receive some end-of-the-draft consideration.
