Broncos Interested In Oshiomogho Atogwe, According To Report

The Denver Broncos are interested former Rams safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, who was cut after the St. Louis Rams did not want to pay him an $8 million bonus, reports ESPN's Bill Williamson. Because he was released, Atogwe is allowed to sign with another team. In addition to Denver, his former teams the Rams remain one of four teams who are reportedly pursuing him.

A third-round pick by the Rams in 2005, Atogwe has 22 career interceptions, 16 forced fumbles and 339 tackles. The Broncos could use a player of Atogwe's abilities. The Broncos had only 10 interceptions in 2010, tied with the Colts for the second-worst in the league, and 14 forced fumbles, tied with three other teams for 22nd best in the league.

Bob Sanders, who was recently released by the Colts, has not yet been connected by Broncos, but he is also another defensive back they could pursue. Though known as one of the games hardest-hitters, he has been plagued with injuries throughout his seven-year career. Both Atogwe and Sanders turn 30 this year, but the former is the better bet to have an impact on the field more often.
