Another day and another missed practice for Denver Broncos running back Willis McGahee. However, this all just appears to be a way of getting McGahee more rest for the game against the Chicago Bears. According to MaxBroncos' Andrew Mason:
It was "not really" a surprise that Willis McGahee didn't practice today, John Fox said, adding, "The key is getting ready for Sunday."
Since McGahee was held out of practice, the team needs to list a reason why he was out when the league-mandated injury report comes out. This knee injury goes along with his legitimate ones of a hamstring and a broken hand. He missed earlier practices with back issues.
While McGahee has had a resurgence as a 30-year-old running back, the extra rest time will surely help him down the stretch while the Broncos battle for a playoff spot. He has six 100-yard rushing games this season and will go over 1,000 yards for the first time since 2007.
