It was a game time decision, but the decision has been made: Broncos DE Von Miller will not play Sunday vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Miller has been fighting a thumb injury all week, and despite his desire to start in Week 13, the Broncos training staff was reportedly worried about potential infections, amongst other things.
Miller, who has 11 sacks in 11 games, which is good for third in the NFL and first amongst rookies, missed practice this past Wednesday, but did return on Friday, and many expected that he would take the field on Sunday. With Miller out, the onus falls on the rest of the Denver pass rush, especially Elvis Dumerville, to pressure Vikings rookie QB Christian Ponder.
