2012 NFL Mock Draft: Broncos Selecting A DT All Too Commonplace

Predicting the NFL Draft four months before it takes place is a fool's errand, but there is some value to these premature projections since they at least provide some sense of what might happen in April. CBS Sports' Dane Brugler has updated his mock draft and has the Denver Broncos selecting Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson with the No. 25 pick. Defensive tackle, which has been and will continue to be repeated endlessly as the draft approaches, is the obvious choice since the Broncos don't have a top young talent.

Around the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs also have an obvious choice of drafting an offensive tackle, and Stanford's Jonathan Martin goes off the board at No. 11 to them. The San Diego Chargers dip into the state of California and draft USC's Nick Perry, a pass rusher who would be out to chase Tim Tebow in the future.

And the Oakland Raiders don't have a first-round pick since they sent it to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Carson Palmer trade.
