2012 Pro Bowl Roster Snubs: Aaron Hernandez, Matthew Stafford Left In The Cold For Game

The 2012 Pro Bowl rosters are out and there are several snubs who played exceptionally well against the Denver Broncos this season. SB Nation's Joel Thorman broke down several of these Pro Bowl snubs. First up is Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was passed over for New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. This seems to be a case of choosing a big name over the player who performed better. As for what Stafford did against the the Broncos, he was 21-of-30 for 267 yards and three touchdown passes.

The other snub was New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. The San Diego Chargers' Antonio Gates made the roster over Hernandez, having less production in fewer games played in compared to Hernandez. Hernandez caught nine passes for 129 yards and one touchdown two weeks ago against the Broncos. Gates, meanwhile, didn't play in the first game against the Broncos and then had six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in the second game.
