With the Denver Broncos' playoff hopes hanging in the balance of their Week 17 match up vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, the team can take no chances and cut no corners when they take the field on Sunday. With that in mind, the Broncos waived wide receiver and special team mainstay Quan Cosby on Tuesday, and signed FB Austin Sylvester to the active roster.
Cosby had spent part of the year returning kicks and punts for the Broncos, but he was mostly ineffective, or when he fumbled a punt against the New England Patriots, worse. Cosby was inactive for last week's game vs. the Buffalo Bills. Sylvester was with the Denver practice squad until mid-October when he was cut after the Broncos added Quinn Johnson off waivers from the Tennessee Titans.
