2012 NFL Mock Draft: Denver Broncos Targeting DT Makes Sense In Early Mocks

Some positions on the field are likely feeling left out when it comes to the Denver Broncos' selection in 2012 NFL mock drafts. Defensive tackle appears to be the early favorite for the Broncos' selection in the April draft, but that's four months way. Right now, all those other positions are screaming (in a Jan Brady voice), "Defensive tackle, defensive tackle, defensive tackle."

And that's what is happening in WalterFootball.com's latest mock draft. With the No. 26 selection, the Broncos select Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson, who has five sacks and 15 tackles for loss in his career as a Clemson Tiger. There's nothing wrong with selecting a defensive tackle -- the Broncos do need some new talent at the position (impending free agency for some, injury risk for others already there).

But as we saw in the 2011 draft, John Fox and John Elway really do stick to their board and draft the best available player, which was linebacker Von Miller over defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. Four months out and people don't want to have fun with their mock drafts?
