The Denver Broncos missed out on a flex game last weekend when they played the New England Patriots, which could have been a huge ratings show for NBC. However, CBS threw a stink about losing the game and kept the Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers game in place. The Chargers pulled off the upset, making for good TV drama.
But the Broncos have a second chance at getting a Sunday night game. The Week 17 flex schedule isn't settled until the start of the new week and the Broncos could take over that spot, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. However, if the Broncos defeat the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Oakland Raiders on Saturday then Chiefs-Broncos on Jan. 1 is unlikely to be moved. The Broncos would have the division wrapped up under that scenario.
But under different combinations the Chiefs-Broncos game could still be moved. A Broncos would keep a potential move of next week's game to Sunday Night Football. But a New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game might potentially be more enticing than a potential playoff spot for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.
