Adrian Peterson Fantasy Update: Minnesota Vikings RB's Projection Downgraded, Likely To Sit Out

The Minnesota Vikings' only true fantasy player of note this season has been running back Adrian Peterson, as Donovan McNabb, released on Thursday, struggled early on and was replaced by rookie Christian Ponder, who has been an adequate starter. But Peterson missed last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons due to an ankle injury and is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. He missed the last two days of practice.

NumberFire is still projecting Peterson to get some action in Sunday's game, but by the end of Friday or possibly on Saturday he could be projected for zero points. Right now, Peterson is projected for three carries and 13 yards on the ground. He is listed as a high risk starter.

It's looking more than likely that Peterson will be declared out for the game instead of being a game-time decision, saving owners from any late sweats before the game begins on Sunday afternoon at 11:00 a.m. MT.
