Adrian Peterson Injury Update: Minnesota Vikings RB Not Practicing, Decision Expected Saturday

According to @VikingNow, a St. Paul Pioneer Press Twitter account, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson did not practice today and does not anticipate knowing whether he can play in Week 13 until Saturday.

The Vikings (2-9) lost Peterson to an ankle injury in their Week 11 loss to the Oakland Raiders, and though he is running on the ankle now, he appears likely to miss the Vikings' Week 13 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Peterson, who leads the team with 872 rushing yards and a strong 4.7 yards per carry average, did not play last week against the Atlanta Falcons. Second-year running back Toby Gerhart started in place of Peterson, rushing for only 44 yards and receiving another 19.

On his career, Gerhart has average 4.0 yards per carry but has only started three NFL games.
