The Denver Broncos are just one win behind the Kansas City Chiefs, the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers, all 4-4, for the AFC West lead. On Sunday, they could find themselves in a tie for second place with two of those teams should things go accordingly to plan. The Broncos play the Chiefs while the Chargers and the Raiders clash in San Diego.
The Broncos opened as just 3-1/2 point underdogs to the Chiefs on the road, according to Odds Shark. Since then the line hasn't shifted as much. At least two other places have downgraded the Chiefs by half of a point. The Chiefs enter this game after an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins, 31-3, whom the Broncos beat in dramatic, late-game fashion. That snapped a four-game winning streak that came after a three-game losing streak to start the season.
The Broncos, meanwhile, have started to alternate outcomes with Tim Tebow. After a failed comeback in the second half against the Chargers, Tebow delivered a victory against the Dolphins, followed that with an awful performance at home against the Detroit Lions and then had a huge day (along with Willis McGahee) to defeat the Oakland Raiders.
This will be the first game this season between the teams and Tebow's first career start against the Chiefs. It should be interesting, one way or another.
