Fantasy Football Projections, Week 13: Tim Tebow Among Bottom Tier Of QBs

Early fantasy football projections don't have Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow looking like a good start this week. But he likes to prove everyone wrong.

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has his fantasy football value tied up in his ability to run the ball. His passing game certainly needs to improve if he wants to become a reliable fantasy starter each week. However, he's usually outperformed his projections each week. NumberFire projected him for 14.59 points right before Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers. He beat that by nearly two points in Yahoo! leagues with 16.42 points. Several big passing plays to Eric Decker and Dante Rosario late in the game helped that happen.

However, numberFire is back to projecting a lower points total for Tebow: 11.58 this week. Rounding those numbers, Tebow is projected for 16 completions on 27 attempts for 184 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He's projected for just nine rushing yards. The Vikings have a porous secondary and a solid run defense, but as the week goes on, expect those numbers to change (passing to fall, rushing to move up).

Tebow appears to be a high-risk start, but as long as the Broncos' defense continues its solid play, Tebow will be in a position to rack up points and yards on those late drives that he is becoming known for in the league. He is projected to be the No. 26 quarterback this week by numberFire.
