The Denver Broncos are in the thick of a playoff race in the AFC and they can help their cause with a win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Quarterback Tim Tebow will look to improve to 5-1 since he became the team's starter midway through October. But the first legitimate game action he saw this season was the final half of the team's first game against the Chargers, a comeback that wasn't.
But don't expect the experts to favor the Broncos in this contest. Over at ESPN, only two on the panel of 10 experts selected the Broncos to win this game: Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter. Obviously, Merril Hoge still isn't a fan of Tebow's and doesn't see Tebow Time working out for another week,
Over at CBSSports.com, a panel of five are split, 3-2, in favor of the Chargers winning this game in a straight pick 'em. But when going up against the spread, the split favors the Broncos, because 6-1/2 points might be too much for the Chargers to win by.
Peter Schrager of FOX Sports, however, predicts the Denver Broncos to win, 23-19. He believes the much improved Broncos defense, led by Von Miller, will be able to tame a Chargers offense that Philip Rivers has struggled to lead this season.
With Tim Tebow playing, the Broncos can never be counted out.
