Darren McFadden Injury Update: Raiders RB On Crutches, Still In Protective Boot

Those that were hoping to see Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden play against the Denver Broncos this Sunday may be sorely disappointed, as indications continue to come out that he likely won't play. According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, McFadden left the team's building today on crutches with a protective boot still wrapped around his foot.

This can't be a good sign for McFadden's Week 9 status, as speculation already has spread that the running back won't play against Denver in order to freshen up to play the following week against the San Diego Chargers. Given the whole crutches-and-protective-boot thing, it seems unlikely that McFadden will heal up quick enough to make an appearance on Sunday.

McFadden, one of the league's leading rushers, hasn't missed a game yet this season, but received only two carries when the Raiders played Kansas City back on Oct. 23.
