Shonn Greene Injury Update: NY Jets RB's Ribs Are OK After Leaving Game Against Denver Broncos

New York Jets running back Shonn Greene left Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos after what appeared to be a hit to the head, but the real injury turned out to be to his ribs. According to Bob Glauber of New York Newsday, X-rays on Greene's ribs revealed no fractures, a good sign that he will play next Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

He left the game in the first half and went to the locker room to be checked out. He didn't return to the game, though he was on the sidelines, ready to play if Joe McKnight went down. Sort of sounds like last week when Willis McGahee said that he could have returned after a hamstring injury should an emergency taken place.

Greene had just three carries for 10 yards when he left. McKnight finished with 16 carries for 59 yards.
