Lindsay Jones of The Denver Post announced via Twitter today that, as anticipated, Denver Broncos running back Willis McGahee returned to practice:
@PostBroncos: Willis McGahee is practicing today. #Broncos
Unfortunately for Broncos fans, Jones was not done:
@PostBroncos: McGahee did warm ups and stretching. But he no longer is wearing helmet as teammates go through individual drills. #Broncos
McGahee, who is the Broncos' leading rusher in 2011, has 460 rushing yards on the year, averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Earlier this week, the Broncos learned that backup running back, Knowshon Moreno, would miss the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.
The Moreno injury has put further weight on McGahee's shoulders as the team, which now stands at 4-5, fights to separate itself in the AFC West standings.
