2011 NFL Standings: Oakland Raiders Hold Lead in AFC West

Well, there's a reason it's called The Wild West. After the Raiders slid past the Chargers on Thursday night, and the Broncos rode QB Tim Tebow to a victory over the Chiefs on Sunday, the teams grew even closer together in the AFC West standings. Heading into Week 11, the Raiders (5-4) hold a one game lead over the other three teams in the division, who currently sit at 4-5. Though the division race is just about as tight as can be for the time being, there may be more separation this time next week, as all four AFC West teams will travel outside of the division.

The Broncos will host the New York Jets on Thursday night, which is a game that also might have Wild Card implications down the road. Both the Raiders and the Chargers will visit NFC North opponents, with Oakland traveling to face the Minnesota Vikings and San Diego heading up to face the surging Chicago Bears. Kansas City, meanwhile, may have the toughest test of them all, as they'll face the New England Patriots in Foxboro on Monday night.

Here are the AFC West standings heading into Week 11:

  1. Oakland Raiders: 5-4
  2. Denver Broncos: 4-5
  3. San Diego Chargers: 4-5
  4. Kansas City Chiefs: 4-5
