Denver Broncos Drop To No. 28 In The Latest SB Nation NFL Power Rankings After Loss To Lions

After a storybook ending for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos (2-5) last week, things were much more nightmarish in their 45-10 home loss against the Detroit Lions. The Broncos opened the scoring with a 39-yard Matt Prater field goal less than four minutes into the game to take a 3-0 lead, and then the Lions rattled off 45 unanswered before Tebow added a garbage-time TD toss to Eric Decker late in the fourth quarter.

Here's what they have to say about the Broncos in the SB Nation Week 9 Power Rankings:

28. Denver Broncos (2-5, LW: 25): Last week Tim Tebow was horrible for 55 minutes and great for five minutes. This week, he was just flat-out horrible. The Broncos were crushed by the Lions and Detroit players publicly and anonymously mocked Tebow.

Tebow finished the day with pedestrian numbers, going 18/39 for 172 yards and an interception to pair with his late TD pass. On the ground he added 63 yard rushing on 10 carries, but also fumbled three times (losing one). The totality of the performance has left Head Coach John Fox to mull the starting QB situation for next week's game against division rival Oakland.
