Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 5: Add Eric Decker, Drop Knowshon Moreno

Looking for some fantasy football help? Adding Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker could be beneficial to a team--if he hasn't already been snatched up.

Fantasy football owners who are still trolling the waiver wire might want to take a look at the list of available wide receivers. The Denver Broncos' Eric Decker might still be available, but he won't be for much longer. While Brandon Lloyd had 136 yards last week for the Broncos, Decker came up with two touchdown receptions and 56 receiving yards.

The Broncos appear ready to keep Brandon Lloyd involved in the offense, but Decker is turning into the team's No. 2 wide receiver. Our fantasy football partner, numberFire, has Lloyd outperforming Decker this week against San Diego, 9.91 points to 6.14 points, but that really depends on who Kyle Orton depends on for the game. Oh, and Orton not throwing interceptions or under throwing his receiver, preventing touchdowns. Decker vultured a touchdown from Lloyd because Orton under threw Lloyd on a flea flicker play.

Fantasy owners should stick with Eric Decker and follow closely once Eddie Royal is ready to return from injury. That could impact decisions in a few weeks.

Decker has been the fourth-most added player this week, according to numberFire. Willis McGahee also made the top 10 adds for this week. He did rush for over 100 yards for the second time this season, He picked up the team's longest rush of the season, 28 yards, which helped if a league gives bonus points for runs over 20 years. However, teams are picking him up because Knowshon Moreno has shown nothing so far. Head coach John Fox limited Moreno to third down plays and had him carry the ball twice for a total of seven yards. Maybe he would have had more opportunities to run the ball if the Broncos weren't down for most of the game. He did sell the fake run on the flea flicker play, but fantasy leagues don't offer points for that.

Steer clear of Knowshon Moreno for a while. Even if he starts to pick up more carries, there's no reason to trust that he will capitalize on that opportunity.
