One quarter through the 2011 NFL season and the AFC West standings are still a bit of a surprise to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs had won the AFC West last season, but then looked completely outmatched during the first three weeks of the season. They were blown out, 89-10, over their first two games and lost a close game to the San Diego Chargers.
Things changed on Sunday when the Chiefs defeated the winless Minnesota Vikings. That delivered the team from the realm of the winless, but it was against the Vikings. Maybe the Chiefs can be taken a bit more serious after their second victory. They do play the Indianapolis Colts next week, which isn't the greatest game in the world.
As for the rest of the AFC West, the Broncos have lost two games in a row heading into next week's game against the San Diego Chargers. San Diego is atop the division with a victory over the Miami Dolphins. The only blemish is a loss to the Patriots. The Raiders (2-2) lost to those same Patriots on Sunday
