Over at Fox Sports, former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick handles the NFL power rankings and he's left the Denver Broncos unchanged in his latest set. The Broncos are No. 27 once again after the bye week:
Broncos don't go up or down in the rankings during their bye week, but I'm not sure trading their best receiver in Brandon Lloyd helped them in any way. Maybe if they clear house, they have a shot at Andrew Luck?
That's an interesting scenario Billick conjures up, and it's not without merit, but sending away Lloyd and possibly Kyle Orton and Eddie Royal doesn't change things all that much. Orton's already been benched in favor of Tim Tebow and Royal hasn't played since the beginning of Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Whatever the psychological effect to be felt has likely already taken over the Broncos.
The so-called "Suck for Luck" movement that has cropped up for several teams now relies on how well (or poor) Tebow does over the remaining 11 games of the season.
