After a Sunday night report that Kyle Orton asked the Denver Broncos for a trade, that story has turned out to be false. Broncos public relations informed the news organization that the report was untrue and had it removed from the story. However, the PR department had to inform Orton of the erroneous report and call other media outlets to correct the mistake.
The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday and it seems unlikely that the Broncos will trade Orton, but it is always a possibility if they have a deal they can't pass up. But for now, Orton is the co-backup with Brady Quinn and ready to play should the need arise.
The Broncos, meanwhile, are working on a trade to send Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams, but it is not official yet.
