So, the Oakland Raiders are down a quarterback following Jason Campbell's broken collar bone. Kyle Boller is penciled in as the starter for the moment, but David Garrard and Luke McCown are possibilities for the Raiders. But what about another quarterback in their own division: Kyle Orton.
↵Orton may or may not have requested a trade, but he is certainly out there for the taking following his benching last week. Sports Illustrated's Peter King thinks the Raiders should pull the trigger:
↵↵↵The Raiders need a quarterback now, and if I were them, I'd go pay a fourth- in 2013 (they don't have their 2, 3, 4, and 7 from the 2012 draft) and try to wrest Kyle Orton from Denver. The Broncos are having an everything-must-go sale (kidding, sort of) and they know Orton's not anything now but insurance.
↵
At this point, that might actually be a good idea, but are we really going to see a trade between division rivals? Just imagine Orton leading the Raiders to the playoffs, as hard as that seems. Oh, well. How about Terrelle Pryor starting for the Raiders?
