The Denver Broncos are expected to have a logjam at wide receiver this coming week when Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal return from injury. But Tuesday's NFL trade deadline could thin the herd a bit. Not only does Brandon Lloyd want a trade, so does Royal, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Royal hurt his groin during Week 2's victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and lost his starting spot to Eric Decker (who was only start in Week 2 to fill in for Lloyd).
However, as Klis points out, no team has offered a deal yet to the Broncos for either Royal or Lloyd. This could be a whole lot of nothing by the time the deadline hits on Tuesday afternoon. Lloyd might be viewed as a one-hit wonder for his 2010 season while Royal is injury prone. Why trade for either, teams might be saying, when we try to sign them on the cheap as free agents this offseason?
