Brandon Lloyd Placed On Trading Block By Denver Broncos, According To Report

The Denver Broncos are thinking about trading Brandon Lloyd, last year's receiving yards leader.

While the Denver Broncos aren't likely to trade quarterback Kyle Orton before Tuesday trade deadline, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd has been placed on the trading block, according to the Denver Post's Mike Klis. The team is looking for a pick in the third to fifth round range and has spoken with multiple teams already.

This possible move makes sense since Lloyd has seen a change in his role this season. While he did have eight receptions for 136 yards two weeks ago, head coach John Fox has utilized Lloyd in a role far different from last year when he led the league in receiving yardage.

Lloyd has missed one game this season due to a groin injury and is a free agent after this season. The Broncos have a wide receiver crunch coming up with the returns of Demaryius Thomas and Eddie Royal. Eric Decker has also emerged as a go-to wide receiver and has started in Royal's absence.

For the season, Lloyd has 19 receptions for 283 yards and zero touchdowns. The move to Tim Tebow at quarterback seems likely to keep Lloyd out of the receiving spotlight.
