The Denver Broncos stayed at No. 27 in ESPN's Week 6 NFL power rankings. And of course Tim Tebow is the talk of the town:
The calls for Tim Tebow have finally been answered. Will he change Denver's fortunes?
I think the answer to that question is "no." Kyle Orton's play as the starting quarterback was just one of the issues with this team. Tebow is still an untested quarterback who needs time to develop. He's finally receiving it as the starting quarterback, but, just as Cam Newton has shown this season, an untried quarterback can perform well while his team still loses. The Panthers are 1-14 and No. 24 in ESPN's rankings.
We can point to Tebow's 28-yard passing touchdown and his rushing touchdown as signs that he can breathe life into the offense, but that could be part of "the shock of the (semi)-new." The Chargers had already faced Tebow last, but it was unlikely that they game-planned for him as taking over the starting job during the game.
