2011 Senior Bowl Score: Christian Ponder Leads South Team To 24-10 Victory Over Jake Locker's North Team

The 2011 Senior Bowl ended with a 24-10 victory for the South Team over the North Team. The South Team's defense held the North Team down for most of the game, but it is the stories of two quarterbacks that will reverberate down the line.

For the South Team, Florida St. Seminoles quarterback Christian Ponder finished 7-of-13 for 131 yard and two touchdowns. His first touchdown pass was to Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Leonard Hankerson in the first quarter, while the second one came in the fourth quarter to TCU Horned Frogs wide receiver Jeremy Kerley on a 23-yard pass.

Hankerson finished with five receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown, and he likely will make scouts take a deeper look at him after this performance. On Ponder's first pass of the game, Hankerson beat Colorado Buffaloes cornerback Jalil Brown (he sort of slipped in coverage) for a 48-yard gain.

West Virginia Mountaineers running back Noel Devine had a one-yard touchdown run and LSU Tigers kicker Josh Jasper kicked a 23-yard field goal for the other scores. Louisville Cardinals running back Bilal Powell totaled 50 yards on the ground. The North Team, by contrast, had a net of zero yards on the ground.

On the North Team, Washington Huskies quarterback Jake Locker looked unimpressive in the first half, but eventually finished 6-of-10 for 98 yards. Nevada Wolfpack quarterback Colin Kaepernick went 4-of-9 for 53 yards and an interception.
