2011 Pro Bowl: Aloha Stadium Hosts All-Star Game Again

For the 2009 season, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell moved the Pro Bowl to Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida, the site of Super Bowl XLIV for the season. Several players, including Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, reacted negatively to the change before the start of the season. But the commissioner called the move a "success" shortly before the game took place.

However, the Pro Bowl returns to Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawai'i for 2010 season. Aloha Stadium opened on Sept. 12, 1975, but did not start hosting the Pro Bowl until 1980. It had hosted 30 straight Pro Bowls until last season.

The game will be played this Sunday, Jan. 30 on FOX at 5:00 p.m. MT.

Mike Smith of the Atlanta Falcons will coach the NFC roster, while Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots will oversee the AFC roster. A total of 10 players from the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers made the roster, but they will not participate because they will play in the Super Bowl next week.
