Super Bowl Odds: Early Line Has Packers As Slight Favorites Over Steelers

The Green Bay Packers were the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs and this will be the first time that seed is playing a team that is not the No. 1 team. Even with that out there, the opening line on the Packers-Steelers Super Bowl game favors the Packers by 2.5. This basically tells us that the odds makers expect a close game between the two.

The over/under of 45.5 adds to that conclusion, because it expects both teams to score in the 20s. But with two weeks to go until the game, both these numbers should change.

The Packers have been a dominant steam over their three postseason victories and have only trailed twice (both times to the Atlanta Falcons). The Steelers needed a second-half comeback against the Ravens two weeks ago to win and then stopped a Jets comeback this weekend to advance to the Super Bowl. Making the Packers as the early favorites should come as no surprise.
