2011 East-West Shrine Game: Safety, Two Touchdowns Help Put East Team Up 19-0 Lead

The East roster has a 19-0 lead over the West roster in the second quarter. Syracuse Orange running back Delone Carter and Penn St. Nittany Lions running back Evan Royster both had rushing touchdowns to put the majority of points on the board. Carter has 30 yards on six carries and Royster had 17 yards on five carries.

Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Kenny Rowe sacked Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Scott Tolzien for a 13-yard loss, which also caused a fumble. Queens University-Canada offensive tackle Matthew O'Donnell, a 6-foot-10 prospect, recovered the ball in the end zone, resulting in a safety. O'Donnell was beaten badly by Rowe on several plays.

For the East team, Virginia Tech Hokies quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Delaware Blue Hens quarterback Pat Devlin have switched under center. Neither has done much with the ball so far.

Auburn kicker Wes Byrum added a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter to put the East up 19-0.
