NFL Playoffs: Packers Punch Ticket To NFC Championship With 48-21 Victory Over Falcons

The Green Bay Packers will appear in next Sunday's NFC Championship game following their 48-21 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday evening. Despite and early 7-0 lead by the Falcons, the Packers took over the game in the second quarter, scoring 28 points. That quarter was capped off with a 70-yard interception returned for a touchdown by Packers cornerback Tramon Williams.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shredded the Falcons defense, throwing for 366 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for one. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan failed to gain traction, finishing with 189 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was also under constant pressure, being sacked five times. He and receiver Michael Jenkins both lost fumbles in addition to the interceptions.

Running back Michael Turner was unable to do much for the Falcons on the ground, totaling only 39 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown.

The NFC's No. 1 seed is now out of the playoffs, and the Packers will either visit either the Chicago Bears or the Seattle Seahawks next week in the NFC Championship game.
