The Denver Post’s editorial board came out Monday night to praise Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen’s decision to fire Josh McDaniels. McDaniels was “justifiably fired” for leading the team to a 5-17 record and allegations of cheating. This move has sent a clear message:
The Broncos organization is better than that, and Bowlen said as much by firing McDaniels.
Calling him an “arrogant, overconfident coach,” the Post’s editorial board believes this move shows that Bowlen is attempting to bring back all those fans who left during Josh McDaniels’ dismal tenure as the Broncos’ head coach.
As the Denver Post’s editorial board asks at the end of its release, who will fix this mess? We can only hope that Pat Bowlen learned his lesson when he searched for a new head coach and wound up with Josh McDaniels. Hopefully he takes to heart the old cliché, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”
