With Josh McDaniels Fired, The Tim Tebow Era Needs To Start Now

New, 3 comments

Now that Josh McDaniels has been fired as the Denver Broncos head coach, interim coach Eric Studesville needs to have Tim Tebow start for the rest of the season. I will echo John Bena's comments over at Mile High Report and say that we need to learn what the Denver Broncos have in Tebow. Right. Now.

↵

Is he a winner? He went 26-2 in his final two college seasons and won a national championship. And while it doesn't mean much in the NFL, Tebow won the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner. He's definitely a winner.

↵

Can he actually lead an NFL team on the field? His preseason appearances are just that: preseason appearances. While he threw for a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown in a game against the Chiefs several weeks ago, we still don't know how he handles himself under pressure from massive NFL linemen.

↵

Whoever becomes the new head coach will need to put his stamp on this team by making the most important draft pick for the franchise in years. If Tebow can show he belongs on an NFL field, then there will be no need to think about drafting Stanford's Andrew Luck.

↵

Won or lose for the rest of the season, the Broncos and their fans need to see what Tim Tebow the NFL player is capable of doing. A commanding general or a sheep, it's time to find out.

Vote in the poll on what you expect will happen with Tebow on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
