Broncos Vs. Chiefs: Kansas City Strikes First, Lead 7-0

On a cold day at Arrowhead Stadium the Kansas City Chiefs scored the first touchdown of the game, and lead the Denver Broncos 7-0.

The touchdown occurred as Matt Cassel found Leonard Pope in the back of the end zone on a 3 yard touchdown pass.  The score was set up by a 20 yard pass from Cassel to Thomas Jones, which put the ball on the 5-yard line.

In the game, Cassel has thrown for 51 yards and the touchdown, Jamaal Charles has 21 rushing yards and Jones leads the team in receiving yards.

For the Broncos Kyle Orton has thrown for 30 yards, Knowshon Moreno has nine rushing yards and Jabar Gaffney leads in receiving yards.

The scoring drive was an 11 play, 70-yard drive that took 6:29 off the clock.

The Broncos received the opening kickoff but were forced to punt after a seven drive, 31-yard drive that stalled on the Chiefs' 39 yard line. The teams then swapped a series of punts before the score.
