NFL Results, Week 12: Kansas City Chiefs Maintain AFC West Lead

The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 7-4 on Sunday after defeating the Seattle Seahawks, 42-24. Matt Cassel threw for two touchdowns and Jamaal Charles ran for one touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Overall, Cassel had 233 passing yards and four touchdowns. Charles had a big day on the ground, gaining 173 yards on 22 carries.

As Joel Thorman points out over at Arrowhead Pride, Dwayne Bowe now has 14 touchdowns in a single season, a franchise record. Also, the Chiefs had a bit of a problem on special teams with a blocked field goal and a blocked punt that Earl Thomas returned for a Seahawks touchdown.

The Oakland Raiders dropped their game to the Miami Dolphins, 33-17. Chad Henne returned under center for the Dolphins and threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Running backs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown combined for 180 yards and a touchdown. Davone Bess had 111 receiving yards for Miami.

The Raiders had only 16 yards on the ground and only 12 carries. It slightly better in the air, as Bruce Gradkowski threw for 252 yards but also two interceptions. Receiver Jacoby Ford had 108 receiving yards and a touchdown (44 yards), but he also had a 101-yard kickoff return to start the game. He had 208 total return yards.

The San Diego Chargers are currently playing the Indianapolis Colts and can take second place with a win.
