Former First Round Pick Jarvis Moss Released By The Broncos

The Denver Broncos have released 2007 first round draft pick Jarvis Moss to make room for outside linebacker David Veikune. Moss, a defensive end from the University of Florida who was selected 17th overall, had struggled to make any sort of impact in Denver in his four seasons with the team, totaling only 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his career.

The Broncos released the following statement via twitter:

Jarvis has tried to do everything we've asked him to. For a number of reasons...it hasn't been a perfect fit. We wish him the best.

David Veikune was a second round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2009 out of Hawai'i. Veikune, who played defensive end in college, transferred to Houston to finish up his collegiate career after starting at Colorado. He played in 10 games for the Browns last season.

According to MaxBroncos.com, with Moss cut, the only pre-'08 first-rounder left on the Broncos' roster is D.J. Williams.
