Fantasy Football Watch: Knowshon Moreno Back To Shouldering Rushing Load

It's hard to find much good in yesterday's Denver Broncos debacle against the Oakland Raiders, but for fantasy owners there may be a sliver of light emanating from the Broncos now. With the score getting out of hand early, the Broncos had to resort to throwing the ball when they were on the field, which Kyle Orton failed to do effectively. But when the Broncos did rush the ball, it was Knowshon Moreno carrying the pigskin. The results weren't spectacular (14 carries, 53 yards, zero touchdowns), but the absence of other names in the rushing category are telling: zero carries for Correll Buckhalter, zero carries for Laurence Maroney. Moreno now appears to be back as the feature runner and should start to produce better for fantasy owners, despite a Broncos offense that looks lost right now.

The better fantasy option, however, appears to be the Oakland Raiders' running back, Darren McFadden. He ran all for 165 yards on 16 carries, scored three rushing touchdowns and had a touchdown reception. It was the best game of McFadden's three-year career, and he's already matched or outdone his previous career highs. Though it's unlikely he'll match that production this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, McFadden is a must-start this coming week.
