Jets Vs. Broncos Recap: LaDainian Tomlinson Scores Two Touchdowns To Give Jets Edge Over Broncos, 24-20

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - LaDainian Tomlinson scored two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 1:13 remaining in regulation, and the New York Jets rallied to beat the Denver Broncos, 24-20, at Invesco Field.

Tomlinson finished with 55 yards on the ground for the Jets (5-1), who have won five straight since opening the season with a home loss to Baltimore.

New York quarterback Mark Sanchez connected on 17-of-30 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown, but did throw his first two interceptions of the season.

Kyle Orton threw for 209 yards and one touchdown on 14-of-34 efficiency for the Broncos (2-4), who had broken a tie on Matt Prater's 48-yard field goal with 3:55 left in the fourth quarter.

The Jets started the ensuing drive from their own 20 and Sanchez converted a pair of third downs to move the team to near midfield prior to the two-minute warning. Tomlinson picked up four yards on the first play out of the timeout before Sanchez's next two throws hit the turf, setting up a 4th-and-6 from the Denver 48.

The 2009 first-round pick couldn't hook up with Santonio Holmes on a deep pass along the left sideline. However, safety Renaldo Hill was flagged for pass interference, giving New York a first down at the two. Tomlinson found the end zone on the next play to put the Jets on top.

Orton guided the Broncos across midfield, but the comeback bid ended when he fumbled a shotgun snap and Dwight Lowery recovered for New York.

Braylon Edwards hauled in a 32-yard TD pass from Sanchez on the first play of the second quarter for the first points of the game. The score capped a 13- play, 77-yard drive that came after Denver flubbed the snap on a field goal try.

Denver countered on its next possession as rookie Tim Tebow rumbled for a five-yard touchdown. Syd'Quan Thompson picked off Sanchez later in the quarter, and the Broncos led 10-7 after Prater drilled a 59-yard field goal as the first half expired.

The Jets tied the game on Nick Folk's 56-yard field goal, but Orton hit rookie wideout Demaryius Thomas for a 17-yard touchdown with 1:23 remaining in the third quarter to put the hosts back in the lead.

New York drew even at 17 on Tomlinson's 20-yard dash with 8:36 left in the final stanza.

Jets tight end Dustin Keller caught three passes for 75 yards...Jabar Gaffney had 81 yards on six receptions for Denver...Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno ran for 48 yards on 12 carries. He had missed the last three games with a hamstring injury...The Broncos racked up 346 yards of total offense to 319 for the Jets.
