The Colorado State Rams jumped out to a 30-point halftime lead and cruised to a 93-50 victory Thursday night. The Rams started the game on a 10-0 run, including six straight points by forward Pierce Hornung. By the 5:08 mark in the first half, Colorado State had extended its lead to 35-5. The rest of the game was elementary.

Colorado State was led by 18 points and nine rebounds from center Colton Iverson. Hornung added 11 points, nine boards, and six steals. Guard Jonathan Octeus scored 13 points and added a team-leading five assists off the bench in place of starting point guard Dorian Green, who was questionable for Thursday's game after suffering a concussion in the team's opener. Green started the game, extending his consecutive starts streak to 98 games, but registered just one minute of playing time before giving way to Octeus.

Chadron State was led by guard David Downey, who came off the bench to score 15 points. No other Eagle scored in double digits.

Colorado State returns to action next Wednesday at Denver.
